Modern Rifle
Rifle: Any Centrefire rifle from .20 to 8mm (.32)
Sights: Telescopic sight required.
Safety: Any safety fitted must function correctly.
Trigger: The trigger must be safe in the opinion of the range officer.
Ammunition: 35 rounds to be supplied by the competitor with a maximum of 5 rounds loaded per stage of practice.
Rest: Mounted bipod or front sand/shooting bag only – to be used on ground or firing point table. No rear rests of any kind to be used.
Targets: 5 target sheet (A4 sheet with 5 targets, 2inch target) 10 target sheet (Two A4 sheets with 5 small targets, 2inch target placed side by side) (7 x target A4 sheets per competitor)
Shooting Distance: 50 metres
Course of Fire
Practice 1Sitting Slow Fire Round. Target: 5 targets Competitors to sit in a chair, using the firing point tables.Target to present once for 300 seconds (5 minutes). 5 shots, one for each target on the sheet.
Practice 2 Sitting Quick Fire Round.Target: 10 targets Competitors to sit in a chair, using the firing point tables. Target to present twice for 150 seconds (2 and a half minutes), 30 second interval. 10 shots, one for each target on the sheet.
Practice 3 Prone Slow Fire Round Target: 5 targets Competitors to lie prone.
Target to present once for 300 seconds (5 minutes). 5 shots, one for each target on the sheet
Practice 4 Prone Quick Fire Round. Competitors to lie prone. Target: 10 targets Target to present twice for 150 seconds (2 and a half minutes), 30 second interval. 10 shots, one for each target on the sheet.
Practice 5 Freestyle Round Target: 5 targets Competitor may choose any stance they feel most comfortable with (prone/kneeling/sitting/standing).Target to present 5 times for 30 seconds with 10 second intervals. One shot to be fired per interval, pertarget on the sheet.
